How do I assign an invoice template to a case?
This article explains how to assign a specific invoice template to a particular case.
Invoices for a case are generated based on invoices templates. You will have to assign a previously created invoice template to a case to enable the generation of an invoice for this case.
Steps to assign an invoice template to a case:
- In the menu to the left, click on “Cases”
- Click on “Standby”
- Select the case you want to assign an invoice template to
- Click on the field “Licensing offer” to edit it
- Select the case's tax type, if it is not set yet
- The “Invoice Template” dropdown shows you all invoice templates available for the selected tax type. Select one.
- If it is necessary to have the licensee's VAT ID on the invoice, activate the “Website
owner's VAT ID required” option - Click “Confirm” to apply the changes
Note: An invoice template can be changed at any time. Once the case is paid though, you can't change the tax type anymore and you can only select invoice templates with the corresponding tax type.
Note 2: You can also assign a default invoice template to a case by using the “Case Auto fill” function. Simply set the invoice template in your case template's default settings.
