How do I activate Inbound Emails?
This article describes, how to set up your Fair Licensing account in order to view received emails in the Fair Licensing portal.
Note: only users with the Admin role can activate the inbound emails.
Note 2: in order to activate cases with an email flow assigned to it that contains scheduled emails it is mandatory to have the inbound emails activated.
Steps to activate the inbound emails:
- Log into your Fair Licensing account using your username and password.
- Click on "Admin," then select "Account"
- Click on "Email Setup"
- Make sure you have the "Own Mail Server" option activated. If you haven't done it yet, follow the steps in this article: How do I set up my account to send emails?
- Scroll down to see the instructions under 'Inbound Emails'. You will have to set up a redirection of all incoming emails for your email account to the Fair Licensing mail server using the redirection email address displayed in the 'Inbound Emails' section. We provide instructions how to do this for the most common email providers Office365 and gmail.
- Once you have configured your email account to redirect incoming emails, click the 'Send test email' button. If the redirection was set up correctly, the test should complete successfully and the status of the inbound emails should change from 'Inactive' to 'Active'
Note 3: the test might take up to 1 minute. If no mail was received within that time, the test will fail and the inbound emails' status will be set to 'Inactive'. However, if it took longer for the email to arrive, it will set the status to 'Active'.
